A high­light of our sum­mer and fall is the local farmer’s mar­ket. So when one of our favorite farm­ers, Jeff from Bialas Farms,a9 start­ed a CSA for win­ter veg­gies, we signed up imme­di­ate­ly. CSA stands for Com­mu­ni­ty Sup­port­ed Agri­cul­ture; it offers farm­ers a way to help sup­port their farm by sell­ing “shares” for a defined peri­od of time and then divvy­ing up the boun­ty among share­hold­ers. It has become a game to pick up our boun­ty, fig­ure out what to do with it, and fin­ish every­thing before the next pick-up. Car­rot soup any­one? How about caramelized onions? We’re hav­ing a great time!
