As one announcer put it, “It’s like Hurricane Irene, only colder.” We didn’t lose power but several of our trees pruned themselves. So to toast the clean-up effort, two more drinks, each to serve two:
3. Ginger Margarita — 3 oz tequila, 1 oz Triple Sec, 1 tablespoon ginger syrup, juice of one lime, shaken with ice and strained (add more syrup and less lime if you prefer sweet over sour)
4. Cranappletini — 1/2 cup farm-fresh apple cider, 3 oz vodka, 1 oz cranberry liqueur, shaken with ice and strained
